It seems as if commuter assistance and telecommuting programs are likely to be the hot button incentives of choice in the near term. For those living far away from work, an opportunity to telecommute or receive assistance may be akin to a several hundred dollar a month raise. Relying on public transportation is another great way to keep money in your pocket if that is an option.

I wonder if there are companies offering employees assistance to move closer to work?

Hi Miriam, good question. I'm not familiar with any, but this would seemingly make sense.

Congratulations on becoming the new editor for Personal Branding, by the way! Dan is terrific and I'm sure you guys will make a fabulous team. I actually just submitted an article for the next issue.
